Ink to Internet is a tool built using the Omeka open source web publishing platform. It is tailored for local use at the University of Kentucky Libaries Special Collections Research Center, and is used to facilitate the manual transcription of scanned archival materials. Groups of related files and metadata are uploaded into Omeka and grouped by collection. Users granted access accounts can conduct manual transcription. When transcription is complete, results can be exported by collection or individual pages. The export format for transcription is tailored to facilitate ingest into the ExploreUK digital library.
